Deep Work. 6 Ways to Focus and Finish More Things!

Hi, today I would like to write about tips and tricks that I use to focus on my study and finish more in a period. In today's world, people are busy with so many distractions. It is very important that you know what the most important for you to do. What skills you need to develop that will give you the most advantages and make you so good that people cannot ignore you!

This idea is base on the new book " Deep Work" by Cal Newport. It suggests that you do an intense focus work in a period of 1 hour to 3 hours to get the best result of your work. The more you focus the faster you can learn and master the skills. It also one of the ways to pass your next ACCA exam!

Alright, without wasting more time here we go!

1) Get into the environment.

You need to work in a good environment. An environment that has the least distraction for you to give an intense focus. My best place to do my intense focus of study is at the library and study room. The environment is so good, with good lighthing, aircondition and quiet distraction free environment.

2) Stop doing anything else.

Turn off your internet connection, put your phone in silent. Stop doing anthing else and clear your mind. Focus on the work that you will do.

3) Set the beginning and end time.

You need to set usual and consistent period of time you do your work so that it easily become your habit! For example 1 hour per session. Then took a quick break of 15 minutes and repeat the process.

4) Set what you want to achieve in that time block.

During the session, it's very important for you to plan your objectives. It will make you feel more motivated to finish the job planned. Plus you will finish more if you set a goal!

5) Have a simple motivational word to repeat. For example " Push x3" 

During the session, you could probably feel demotivated, repeat a good affirmation to keep the motivation high!

6) Give yourself simple reward after finish it.

Study shows that it will easier for you to form a habit if you give yourself a small reward after you form the action. A simple reward like a drink, a pat in the back or even a small pack of chocolate can give you motivation to do it again and again!
